A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
In 1989 Tim Holt started Studio Nico in the heart of Richmond’s historic Jackson Ward. The recording studio primarily served the local music scene and became a frequented by local avant garde punk rock figure, Dika Newlin. Over the years, Studio Nico flourished as a haven for local musicians seeking to immortalize their music. Studio Nico attracted touring acts, with artists like the Irish folk performer Mara O’Connell leaving their sonic imprints within its walls. The legacy of Studio Nico continued to unfold, marking a chapter in the musical tapestry of Richmond.
